Letter from the President April 21, 2003
Hello Frost Friends,

On March 26, 2003, Frost's 129th birthday, the fourth annual meeting
of the corporation was held at a luncheon at McMoreland's Restaurant in Bennington.

Here are some highlights from the President's report: FoRF acquired the Stone House on May 31, 2002 and opened it to the public on September 14. We operated through December 31 and welcomed over 1500 visitors during 3-1/2 months of operation.

The Frostfriends website continues to gain cyber- visitors and now exceeds 100,000 annually. Visitors logged in from 65 countries.

Our membership has grown to approximately 300, including the people who generously supported the campaign to acquire the house. We hope these Friends will continue to love and support this house and our wonderful plans for the future. Many responded in the fall to renew their membership and we hope those who did not renew will take a moment now and send in their dues. This support
is vital for the many challenges we now have as "homeowners."

Our major financial obstacle is a $200,000 mortgage. Income from operating the museum is an unknown factor and at the end of the year we must have enough to pay the bills over the winter. The best way to future success is to pay off the mortgage. If we could do that, it would make all the difference.

On a personal note, it has been a privilege to lead this organization and this community in creating a great and enduring tribute to Robert Frost. Our beginning has been nothing short of miraculous.
My thanks to the FoRF board and to all our contributors who believed this into being. We are working hard to keep the promise of the future alive and well.

Yours in Frost,
Carole Thompson
